Obituary for Marvella Eaton
1932 - 2010
Marvella Fern Eaton, 77, of Coffeyville, Kansas,died early Sunday morning, January 31, 2010 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
Marvella was born August 18, 1932 at Coffeyville, Kansas to Perry Alexander and Opal (Chaney) Alexander. She grew up in Noxie, Oklahoma and attended Oakdale and Lenapah, Oklahoma schools. After graduating Lenapah High School, Marvella married Donald W. Eaton. Donald preceded his wife in death on June 5, 2007. Marvella worked as a clerk in the T.G.&Y. fabric department for 13 years. She also worked at Kress and other area drugstores. Marvella made homes in South Coffeyville, Wann, Oklahoma, Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Bartlesville, Oklahoma, before moving to Coffeyville last May. She was member of the Coffeyville First Baptist Church and loved to read, especially, Janet Daley. Marvella loved to crochet and garden, raising beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables.
Survivors include her daughter, LaDonna Al-Noubani of Coffeyville and a special friend, Juanita Wilson and her daughter, Sharon Twitchell, both of Coffeyville. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband; by a brother, Bill Alexander; by one sister, Annabelle Vail and by her beloved dog, Ruby.
According to Marvella’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. LaDonna would like to thank Dr. Chillal and Dona Pendleton for the excellent care extended to her mother.
