William McKinley “Bill” Ross, 66, Lenapah, Oklahoma, died Thursday morning, November 4, 2010 at Jane Phillips Medical Center, Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Bill was born April 9, 1944 at Ironton, Ohio to Clarence Ross and Anna Louise (Stamper) Ross. He grew up in Ohio and was a 1962 graduate of Stockdale High School. In October of 1962, Bill became a member of the U.S. Army, serving until his honorable discharge in October, 1965. He was united in marriage to Alyse Fincham at Manhattan, Kansas. The couple lived in Wamego, Kansas before moving to Lenapah in 1981. Although, now retired, Bill had been a truck driver for many years.

Survivors are his wife, Alyse of the home; one daughter, Angela Herpich of Fairway, Kansas; two sons, William “Billy” Ross of Coffeyville and Russell “Rusty” Ross of Honolulu, Hawaii; four sisters, Rita Ann Adkins of Lucasville, Ohio, Linda Carol Asbury of Westmoreland, Kansas, Katheia Sue Duncan of Winter Springs, Florida and Nancy Ellen Childers of Dublin, Ohio; two brothers, Clarence Ross, Jr. of Marysville, Ohio and Dwight David Ross of Bainbridge, OH and nine grandchildren, Cody Alan Rutledge, Andrea Linn Rutledge, Sydney Ann Herpich, Samantha Jayne Herpich, Shayna Mikhail Ross, Kortney Layne Ross, Jacob Alan Ross, Derek Matthew Ross and Emily Chom-Tok Ross. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Dallas Lee Ross.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Monday, November 8, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with committal to follow at the Veterans Patio in Coffeyville’s Fairview Cemetery. Military graveside rite will be provided by Big Red 1 of Ft. Riley, Kansas. Visitation is from 1-6 p.m., Sunday with the family receiving friends from 4-6 p.m.
